Went to walk for breast cancer on October 11 at Liberty Park.  It was a cold Saturday morning but a fun event.  One of the best parts was at the end when all of us bought the black and pink t shirts from the blonde girls at the U that said Save Second Base.  Priceless.  Still laugh about it.  Being at the walk with my friend who is going through cancer makes me grateful for my health everyday.  It was a great day that I won't forget.

Finally a new post

Ok I'm a very bad blogger.  I NEVER update my page.  Here are some pictures from my BYUH reunion.

Which Princess am I?

I am Snow White. Hmmm..... I just don't see myself as a princess. I'm just not that "girly" . One of the first things I said when I was old enough to talk was no pink. Rachel is the perfect grand child for grandma. Grandma loves to dress her up in cute pink things - something she was robbed of with me.

My Black Beauty

At the End of April I got my new car and I love it. It was so great to finally have my own ride again. Four months without one was no fun it got old fast.

My job at Walmart it pretty interesting. The people are really nice. One of them is friends with Frank Garish. He makes movies on his days off. One day I met the very annoying Heather from the Biggest Loser. Everyone in Utah disliked her on the show.

A Job Finally!

I finally have a job. I work at Walmart in housewares. I lift stuff and cut open boxes, push big carts and answer some very odd questions from customers such as can you help me get a fish? The funny part is that it is 9:30 at night and there is no one in pets to help out. So far everyone has been helpful and nice to work with. The hard part is the time clock - they get very upset if you even go a minute over 40 hours a week.

It is nice to have a job, a new car and some freedom. My feet hurt and my back hurt after standing all day, but I love my new black car. Whatever it takes to pay for a car. I will put up some pictures of me in my Walmart outfit for everyone to laugh at.

Papas Big Mess Up

Last week Papa took Grandmas car to drop a church book off to one of his teachers. He knew that Grandma needed her car back to pick Michael up from work at 4:00 PM. Papa says oh, I'll just be a minute. Meanwhile Grandma is frantic and pacing as it nears 4:15 and Papa is nowhere to be seen. Grandma ends up walking to the house where the car is parked and talking to the wife who has Alzheimer's disease and has no idea where anyone is. So Grandma steals her car and picks up a very nervous Michael from Wendys. Grandma is still furious with Papa. She even refuses to open the front door for him when he rings the doorbell. Jennifer ends up letting him in. He says oh no somebody stole your car. Then Grandma begins to yell at him. The whole time he was in the Andersons pasture yacking away with brother Anderson and various other members of the ward who happened to be outside. Yes that was his defense. That he was talking and had no idea what time it was. Grandma will never let this one go. Ever.

Wendys

Here is a picture of Michael in his Wendys uniform. He loves his job even though he wants a storm system to come and create lots of snow so he won't have to work. Michael loves the lady who does the weather on channel 4. Every night he says his favorite word to us "storm system". Michael did have fun birthday. He got to have hamburgers and chocolate cake for dinner.

Shoveling Snow

Could Papa look any funnier? This was last December when we had some heavy snow. Check out the boots and shorts.
In the other picture we think papa looks like Ben. It's the hat.

Here is a better picture of me next to my poor little green car. This is the place where they fix them or haul them away. Michael was very worried about what happend to it. He even said that he would give me his Wendy's money to help me buy a new car.

Kim wants a workout and Papas attempt to cook

This is my first attempt at blogging. It may take a little practice and not look as cool or be as clever as Kim's. The other Newtons of Colorado Springs have a much busier life than the Newtons of Kaysville. Ours is on the more mundane side.

Grandma and Papa sit around and decide on the dinner calendar what everyone is going to cook. One night we had macaroni and cheese with powdered sugar. Courtesy of Papa. Of course the whole fiasco was blamed on Grandma for not labeling every single container in the cupboard. Jennifer proceeded to make macaroni and cheese two nights later with no problem. Poor Papa.
Here is a list of inexpensive workout items

  1. Jump Rope

  2. Exersise Ball (when you sit on it your knees should be at a 90 degree angel)

  3. Resitance band ( they have handles and are usually made by SPRI) Yellow is light weight, green, red, blue is the most difficult.

  4. Dumbells are good, but you can get along without them. They don't need to be very heavy.

Boxing is a good way to burn calories. You will need gloves since hitting the bag with your hands hurts. Just turn on some music that you like and take your frustration out the bag. Put your left foot in front of you and hit with your left hand then your right hand. Kind of slump down like you have poor posture and always protect your face. I have taken some boxing classes at Dash. It is a fun workout.

The most important thing to remember when you workout is to protect your spine. Next time I will put some pictures up with a sample workout plan.
